Overview
Residence Education and Housing Services (REHS) is responsible for serving over 17,000 students within 27 residence halls and two apartment communities. This includes the following units:
Business Operations | Handles key functions like housing assignments, mail, keys, occupancy, summer conferences room bookings, customer service desk management. Manages all revenue-generating operations for strategic planning data retention efforts.
Central Maintenance and University Apartments | Provides maintenance services for residence halls apartments. Manages the MSU Union other facilities to ensure a safe living environment.
Communications and Outreach | Supports strategic direction social media websites; coordinates marketing campaigns; manages tours presentations; oversees student employment program.
Culture and Strategy | Supports strategic planning resource management policy development SOPs assessment employee experience training internal cultural across REHS.
Community and Engagement | Cultivates spaces rooted in presence, shared learning, collective responsibility, and transformative relationships that invite all voices into growth.
Residence Hall Services (Facilities) | Delivers top-tier cleaning maintenance services across 27 residence halls meeting GBAC STAR standards ensure health and safety for students, staff and visitors.
Residence Education | Supports student development through community building inclusive practices leadership opportunities residential curriculum additional engagement initiatives with campus partners, parents and families.
Safety and Security | Develops safety protocols emergency plans collaboration with MSU DPPS Risk Management other state partners.

Housing Assignments Office
The Housing Assignments Office manages room placements, roommate matching, and housing preference requests. Our team is dedicated to supporting students throughout their time living on at MSU, helping to ensure a comfortable and successful on-campus experience.

In-Hall Operations Support
Your residence hall or apartment service center is your one-stop shop for check-in and check-out, picking up mail and packages, grabbing a temporary key or access card, exchanging linen packets, checking out a vacuum or broom, and much more!

Residence Hall Maintenance Issues
Need something fixed in your room or building? Submit a maintenance request anytime for repairs, pest concerns, or other facility related issues, and we’ll work to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Having issues with your roommate or shared spaces? Hall staff are here to help with communication, conflict resolution, and making sure everyone feels comfortable in their Spartan home.
