Parent and Family Development Program

Welcome to the Parent and Family Development Program, where we propel student success and forge exciting partnerships within the Spartan network. Together, Spartan parents enhance the campus community by partnering with MSU in its mission to expand knowledge and transform lives.

How to Get Involved

  • Become a Spartan Family Ambassador
  • Join MSU Parent and Family events
  • Meet with university leadership
  • Connect with other MSU families
  • Share internships and job opportunities
  • Invest in MSU initiatives through the Spartan Parent Impact Fund

Parent Philanthropy

Your gifts support the people, places, and programs that are the heartbeat of MSU. Thanks to $5+ million that Spartan parents, grandparents, and families donated over the past decade, the student experience has been elevated with access to innovative programs, scholarship awards, new and updated facilities, and groundbreaking research.

Key Support Areas

Health & Wellness

The Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD), Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS), and the Support Our Spartans (SOS) emergency fund bolster student success by supporting Spartans’ well-being.

Academic Support

The Mathematics Learning Center and the Writing Center help students develop their community and excel in their studies.

Career Development

Students seeking professional development opportunities can find them through the Career Services Network, Internship Assistance Funds, and Research Awards.

Building Excellence

There are many ways to build bright futures for all Spartans, such as funding scholarships and awards to promote student success.

Spartan Parent Ambassador Council

You can engage at a higher level as part of the Spartan Parent Ambassador Council, where your advocacy will have a positive impact on student life at MSU. Council members attend meetings, share information with fellow parents, engage in campus programs, support fundraising efforts, provide testimonials, and share career development opportunities with fellow Spartans.
