EAST LANSING, MICH. – On Monday, Dec. 14, the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center will host eight students, ages 10 to 16, who will work as apprentices alongside Kellogg Center Executive Chef Michael Clyne as part of the Chef for a Day event.

This event will provide the students with a new perspective on healthy meals by demonstrating tasty, nutritious recipes within reasonable budgets. Working with Chef Clyne gives students firsthand experience, and at the conclusion of the day, they will serve dinner to their parents and guardians.

This event is possible through collaboration with Lansing School District Superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul, Director of Elementary and Middle Years Education Mara Lud, Office of High Schools and Magnet Schools Director Delsa Chapman, Michigan State University Communications Professor Mary Bresnahan, Ph.D., MSU Communications Research Associate Jackie Zhuang, Ph.D., Spartan Hospitality Group Director Joel Heberlein and Chef Clyne.
