Cherry Lane and Faculty Bricks Apartments

Faculty Bricks Apartments

The Cherry Lane and Faculty Bricks apartment buildings are set for demolition starting July 5.

Between June 15 and July 5, facilities staff will be removing all furniture and other materials from each building so that the university can salvage whatever possible. During this time, the plaque from building 802, which showcases images of each donor to the buildings themselves, will be relocated to Demonstration Hall.

Throughout the demolition process, workers will be screening all trees to preserve them for the currently planned green area that will encompass the space after demolition. The Faculty Bricks buildings will be the first to go down as demolition will work from the north to south, causing some road construction around Trowbridge during the time. In total, the project will most likely take an entire year and will include seed work for new grass, scheduled for full completion next spring.

Note: All name displays will be saved and offered to the families of donors. In addition, plans are in place for a new memorial plaque that will be erected at the current site.
