On the west side of Akers Hall, workers have completed carpet replacement on the first, second and third floors, and will soon move to rewire the lighting for new, low-wattage bulbs. Similar work is planned to continue throughout the remaining floors as well as on the east side.
Akers Hall Phase II - East Neighborhood
As part of the retention plans for Akers Hall, the building is scheduled for minor renovations during summer 2011.
The upgrades include new lighting and flooring throughout student corridors and updates to the first-floor public restrooms. In addition, resident rooms will each receive minor upgrades as well as new, loftable bed furniture.
All renovations will be completed by August 2011.
